FPA® Commitment to Professionalism
 
The Financial Planning Association (FPA), is a membership organization for the financial planning community. FPA is the largest association of professionals dedicated to championing the financial planning process. FPA members are committed to helping people make smarter decisions to achieve their goals and dreams. FPA believes that everyone needs professional, objective advice to make smart financial decisions and that, when seeking the advice of a financial planner, the planner should be a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certificant.
 
  Commitment to Continued Education
 
The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards is a professional regulatory organization which promotes ethics, integrity and professional standards in personal financial planning. This gives the public an opportunity to have access to -- and benefit from -- competent, ethical financial planning. Individuals who meet rigorous certification requirements are certified by CFP Board to use its certification trademark. Jon King is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional.
 
 

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants is the national, professional organization for all Certified Public Accountants. Its mission is to provide members with the resources, information, and leadership that enable them to provide valuable services in the highest professional manner to benefit the public as well as employers and clients. The AICPA Establishes professional standards; assist members in continually improving their professional conduct, performance and expertise; and monitors performance to enforce current standards and requirements.

Commitment to Excellence

The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) is the largest professional association of comprehensive, Fee-Only financial planners in the United States. With over 1,200 members and affiliates, the members of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors subscribe to a strict fiduciary oath. In addition, NAPFA members are required to submit a comprehensive planning case for peer review and annually fulfill significant continuing education requirements.

 
Commitment to Objectivity
            
All members of NAPFA, the National Assocation of Personal Financial Planners  practice Fee-Only financial planning which is client-centered, objective and ethical. As a Fee-Only advisory firm, recommendations are untainted by any type of fee received by the vendors of financial products, including investment funds, insurance companies and estate attorneys. Fee-Only advisors provide consumers and institutions with comprehensive and objective financial advice on a "Fee-Only" basis, keeping only the best interests of the client in mind – with neither the advisor nor any related party receiving compensation contingent on the purchase or sale of a financial product.
 

The Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), is a designation awarded by the AICPA to a select group of Certified Public Accountants who have passed a rigorous examination and demonstrated both training and experience in the financial planning process.  To become a PFS, the CPA must also submit references from clients and other professionals to demonstrate their expertise in financial planning.
 

Commitment to Helping People from All Walks of Life

The Garrett Planning Network, Inc. (GPN) is a nationwide network of professional, Fee-Only financial advisors who are dedicated to providing independent, objective financial planning and advice to people from all walks of life, on an hourly as-needed basis. Only 1% of the nation's financial planning firms are structured this way. As staunch consumer advocates and Fee-Only client fiduciaries, GPN Members continue to demonstrate their commitment to serving the public's best interests by making competent, Fee-Only financial advice accessible to all people. Many financial advisors accept clients only if they meet certain income and net worth requirements. GPN members believe, however, that professional, objective financial advice is something all Americans need, at least periodically, to build the brightest financial futures.
